Before Freigang’s creation its members had already played a role in Vienna Rock History:
Wolfgang Mühlegger, as guitarist for the cult band Dead Nittels; Tschuri Hörmann,
as drummer for eighties band Blümchen Blau; and Johann Scheder, as bassist for a variety
of punk groups and house bands.
Ben Goodspeed was later on the scene. A creative lyricist and passionate singer,
he moved from New York to Vienna in 1990 and joined Freigang in 2011 to replace
Werner Vavricka (†) Freigang continues to demonstrate its unique presence and crowd pull with electrifying performances, having reemerged onto the scene with unexpected vitality and energy - songs from the heart and music from the gut.
